ALAPPUZHA: The Nehru Trophy Boat Race Committee has decided to extend the last date for the registration of boats to July 26. The decision was taken after the Kerala Race Boat Owners Association, an organisation of small boats, refrained from registering as a strategy to accept their demands.
“The date was extended based on the club members’ request,” Revenue Divisional Officer Muraleedharan Pillai, who is also the secretary of the race committee, said.“As many clubs are far from Alappuzha, they demanded two more days for registration,” Pillai said.
