A senior teacher of Kattampally Government UP School was taken into custody for questioning on Sunday after a Class-III student levelled sexual abuse charge against him, according to police.

KANNUR: A senior teacher of Kattampally Government UP School was taken into custody for questioning on Sunday after a Class-III student levelled sexual abuse charge against him, according to Valapattinam police.

The girl was allegedly abused by the teacher,  a resident of Peralassery, last year in December at the school. The Childline following an anonymous call it received, took the statement from the child and also produced her before the Child Welfare Committee. Based on the information from the Childline, the police have registered the case and he is likely to be arrested on Monday.
