THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Taking strong exception to Governor P Sathasivam’s action of forwarding the BJP’s  petition seeking imposition of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Kannur to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, BJP state general secretary M T Ramesh said the party does not need a Governor’s intervention to handover a complaint to the Chief Minister.

In his Facebook post, Ramesh said it is the conviction there would not be any dispensation of justice so far as Pinarayi Vijayan remained the Chief Minister that prompted the BJP to move the office of the Governor.
“Does it mean the BJP does not know the office address of the Chief Minister?  The Governor has several options to initiate action. The question is whether he can do it or not,” he said.

Ramesh said the BJP-RSS workers also have the right to live and engage in organisational activities like everyone else. The demand is to ensure this right. The BJP is not asking for any one’s benevolence and the party is not used to accepting such charity, he said.
