THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fenny Balakrishnan, former lawyer of Solar scam accused Saritha Nair, on Saturday made a startling revelation that her original letter, written from prison, did not contain allegations of sexual assaults and other charges against politicians. The charges were added at the behest of  K B Ganesh Kumar MLA, Fenny said. Fenny told a news conference here the original letter given to him by Saritha at the Pathanamthitta Sub-jail contained only 21 pages.

This was later handed over to Saranya Manoj, the nephew of former Minister R Balakrishna Pillai, and Pradeep Kumar, personal assistant of Ganesh Kumar. Fenny said it was only later that four pages, containing the damning allegations against politicians, were added to the letter. It was on March 13, 2015, that four pages were added to Saritha's letter. It was later submitted to the Solar Commission. There was a statement before the Commission that Saritha's advocate had read the 21-page letter and signed it before handing it over.

But the Commission did not notice the statement. If the Commission had noticed this, the current situation would not have evolved, Fenny said. According to Fenny, the names of politicians and sexual charges were added only later and the same was read out to him. While he objected to it, Saritha remained silent.
When Fenny asked why sexual charges were added, Saranya Manoj told him Ganesh Kumar wanted to take revenge against UDF leaders as he could not become a minister again. As he kept silent, Saritha added the same in the original letter as directed by Ganesh and Saranya Manoj.
