‘Mock Homage’ issue: Two arrested, let off on bail

KANHANGAD: Two students of Nehru Arts and Science College have been arrested and let off on bail in connection with the mock homage paid to principal P V Pushpaja.The Hosdurg police said the second and third accused in the case were arrested on Thursday.

In her complaint to the police, the principal had accused Muhammed Anees, Praveen M P and Sarath Damodaran of causing her mental agony, and also of bursting crackers on the campus.Last month, on the day the staff of the college were giving Pushpaja a send-off party, a section of students had put up a poster that read: “Homage to the principal who had died in the hearts of the students. Relief from disaster. Freedom to campus.”
