THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The difficulties faced by working women in night shifts is something that most of the women’s organisations have glossed over.

But the Kerala Women’s Commission (KWC) has decided to entrust a team of researchers to study the difficulties faced by female employees who work at night.

This, along with five other topics, including domestic violence, female prisoners and tribal women, will be studied in detail and the report will be submitted to the state government in six months’ time for follow-up.
KWC chairperson M C Josephine said the topics have been finalised for research on the basis of their gravity.

The research team will be finalised in two days’ time, and one of the commission members said research scholars, who have prior experience in dealing with similar topics and have worked with NGOs who are focusing on similar areas, will be given priority.
