THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Government Medical College Hospitals in the state have been sanctioned `11.86 crore as part of the efforts to provide better infrastructure and make them patient-friendly and centres of excellence under the Ardram Mission, Health Minister K K Shylaja said.
The Thiruvananthapuram Medical college will get Rs 2 crore, Alappuzha Medical College Rs 1.87 crore, Kottayam Medical College `1.99 crore, Kozhikode Medical College Rs 2 crore, Thrissur Rs 2 crore, Manjeri Rs 1 crore and Ernakulam Rs 1 crore.
The money can be used for purchasing equipment, construction activities, renovation and announcement facility for patients. As part of the Ardram Mission, the amount had been allotted for all Medical Colleges for OP modernisation in two phases. In the first phase, `12.92 crore was sanctioned in 2016-17 and `38.89 crore in 2017-18.
The Health Minister had visited the Medical Colleges in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha and Thrissur to speed up the works and evaluate the progress of the works under Ardram Mission.
