THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM veteran VS Achuthanandan has come out in support of Hanan - the college girl who sells fish at Thammanam - who was bullied over the internet.

The Administrative Reforms Commission chairman demanded legal action against the cyberbullies. A case should be registered against those behind the cyber lynching, he said. The veteran leader strongly condemned the 'socially irresponsible' social media attacks against the young girl.

In a statement issued here, the CPM veteran appreciated Hanan for her will to fight for her studies in the face of all adverse situations. "Instead of trying to fathom her situation, some tried to put down her struggle of existence. The police should probe into the online attack against the girl and the culprits should be brought before the law," VS said.
