THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A day after the Sabarimala thantri and Pandalam Palace said they would shut down its sanctum sanctorum if women reach near it, the state government and Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) said they were 'taking their comments seriously'.

They, it is learnt, are displeased with the parikarmis' act (aides of Sabarimala temple's chief priest) after they staged protest in front of the 18 holy steps.

"The protest by parikarmis is an act of indiscipline. It's also a blatant violation of the Kerala High Court order that prohibits any kind of protest there. We'll look into it seriously," said Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran.
