KOCHI: Observing the police should take action only against people who were directly involved in the incidents of violence at Sabarimala, a Division Bench of the High Court on Friday issued an oral directive that the police should not play to the gallery.
The Bench comprising Justice PR Ramachandra Menon and Justice Devan Ramachandran also directed the state government to respond to a writ petition filed by two persons alleging the police were trying to arrest and harass them in connection with the incidents at Sabarimala.
The court orally observed the police could proceed against those who had indulged in violence, but innocent persons should be spared.
