KOCHI: Former MP K V Thomas suspects that his official Facebook page has been hacked. He has approached Meta Platforms, Inc, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur and state police chief Anil Kant for the recovery of the account. As per his complaint, his Facebook page was handled by his children Rekha Thomas and Biju Thomas, and they lost access to the account on May 1.

Though he took up the matter with Meta, the parent company of Facebook, other than repeated assurance, access could not be restored. In the complaint, Thomas raised apprehension that his account is suspected to be hacked and it may be misused.

All attempts to recover the account turned futile. Thomas requested the state police chief to conduct a probe into the incident. Kochi City Cyber Police is conducting a preliminary probe to check whether the account was hacked.
