BHUBANESWAR: To relieve the world from agony and pain, yoga and meditation have proved useful since ancient times. But not many in the State know about a yoga that is based on the Sun as its source of energy.

That Sun gazing during sunrise helps accumulate vitamin D is a known fact of science. Going a step ahead, Acharya Jowel, better known as Sri Surya Swamiji, confirms that through the practice of `Surya yoga’ or yoga based on sun gazing, physical, mental and spiritual blocks can be overcome easily.

The yoga guru is here for the dance, music and meditation festival `Maarga’, organised by `SPARSH’. He emphasized on every individual’s role and contribution to make the world a harmonious place to live in.

Founder of the Surya Yog Foundation, the young swamiji has imparted training on this special form of meditation worldwide and is visiting Orissa for the second time.

`Maarga' commences with Surya Yoga tomorrow 5 a.m. at Rabindra Mandap and move to Konark and Titalagarh, ending with a `mahasatsang’ at Gouanga Ashram, Shahid Nagar on June 28, with the release of a book `Rishika’ by Maa Prem Arpita.
