BHUBANESWAR: Prof. TK Chandrashekar of IIT Kanpur has joined as the Director, National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar.

Prior to his new seat, Prof Chandrashekar was the Director, National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST, CSIR) Trivandrum from November 2003 to November 2008.

Apart from his academic excellence, Prof Chandraskekar is an active researcher and his interests include Model compounds for Photosynthetic intermediates, Photo catalysis, Expanded porphyrins and their applications as anion receptors, organic NLO materials, catalysts for organic transformations and biological reactions.

He has published more than 120 research publications and reviews in journals of international repute.
