KEONJHAR: Former chairperson of Joda Municipality and Independent Jitu Patnaik won the Champua Assembly segment by a narrow margin of 145 votes.

While Patnaik bagged 27,700 votes, his nearest rival Sanatan Mahakud of Congress, polled 27,555 votes.

BJD candidate Yasobanta Laguri won the Keonjhar Lok Sabha constituency by defeating his nearest Congress candidate Dhanurjay Siddu by a margin of 1,26,484 seats. Laguri secured 3,89,104 votes while Siddu got 1,64,023 votes.

In Ghasipura Assembly seat, district BJD president Badrinarayan Patra defeated Congress candidate Niranjan Patnaik by 25,554 votes. While Patra polled 77,890 votes, Patnaik got 52,336 votes.

In Patana seat, Premananda Naik of BJD defeated his nearest Congress rival Brundaban Naik by 17,478 votes.

While Naik got 53,279 votes, Brundaban polled 35,801 votes.

In Keonjhar Sadar Assembly segment, BJD candidate Subarna Naik defeated Mohan Majhi of BJP by 7,269 votes. While Naik got 36,471 votes, Majhi secured 29,202 votes.
