BHUBANESWAR: Prosecution in the Biranchi Das murder case submitted before the trial court on Thursday that the judo coach was shot with a .9 mm pistol and he was shot thrice.

Quoting ballistic report during the argument, the prosecution informed that all three empty cartridges seized from the crime scene bore identical impression marks suggesting they were fired from the same gun.

Besides, the postmortem report made it clear that Biranchi’s body had six injuries. The bullets had pierced the body and gone out.

During its argument, the prosecution said prime accused Raja Acharya’s motive behind the murder was clear.

He had come to know starlet Leslie Tripathy when she visited Baripada jail and had become a fan ever since.

His telephone conversation with album artist Bidusmita Mantri, Leslie’s friend, pointed his intention to eliminate Biranchi or anyone who tried to mediate in the Leslie case.

The prosecution will continue with its argument before the Fast Track Court No. 3 on Friday.
