BHUBANESWAR: IN a novel attempt to bring to the audience Oriya masterpieces of yesteryear, Orissa Television Limited (OTV) will be launching 'Ei Matira Katha' on Tarang channel, a series that will begin with Fakir Mohan Senapati's 'Chhaa Mana Atha Guntha.'

Briefing mediapersons here on Saturday at the launching ceremony of the series, Director, Orissa Television Network, Bibhu Prasad Rath hailed the efforts of the team in taking up such a massive venture and presenting it to the masses. A few scenes from the serial were enacted at the ceremony.

Producer Keshab Chandra Rout and director Raju Mishra spoke on the purpose behind taking up the responsibility. "These are the stories of our land and watching these we can know how strong Oriya literature is. There are many lessons to be learnt from such treasures," they asserted.

While dialogues for the serial are by Brundaban Jena, music has been scored by Bikash Das and Ratikanta Satapathy.

'Chhaa Mana Atha Guntha' will be followed by other masterpieces like 'Mala Janha', 'Matira Manisha', 'Kaa', 'Rebati' and 'Daka Munshi'.

The serial will be aired from April 18, Monday to Friday at 9 pm.
