ATHAGARH: The members of National Human Rights Commission found gross irregularities in the implementation of National Rural health Mission (NRHM) here during a surprise visit recently.

On their way to Dhenkanal, the team members visited the Khuntuni PHC  here where they found doctors absent without leave notice and the patients lying in ‘extremely unhygienic conditions’.  During inquiry, the team members found that the medicines stored in the PHC were nearing expiry date and ambulance lying defunct for the last one year.   They also visited the Berhampur community health centre (CHC) and found that it was no better.
