ANGUL: The Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) Naveen Jindal on Wednesday visited Nisha and met the agitating villagers who were on a dharna in front of the plant.

He interacted with the agitating villagers and promised them that all possible measures were being taken by the company to address grievances of villagers of peripheral areas.

Regretting the January 25 incident, he said such

incidents should never recur.

“JSPL is a socially responsible company. It is a company that has been driven by people and the local community has contributed a lot in making the plant a success. It is the locals who will continue to benefit from the plant for all times to come,”  Jindal said, adding that JSPL respects the views of local administration and people.

The villagers demanded that such meetings with the management should be organised at regular intervals to which Jindal agreed.

Executive Director Rajesh Jha and Deputy Managing Director VR Sharma accompanied Jindal.
