PURI: The main accused in the Pipili gangrape case, Prasanta Pradhan alias Pasei, was produced in the court of JMFC Meenakshi Priyadarshini, Pipili, by the Crime Branch. He was remanded in the judicial custody till January 27. Prasanta was produced in the court on expiry of his five-day remand.
On Saturday, the DSP, CB, Ramesh Chandra Sethi, sought permission of the court to conduct a lie detector test on Prasanta.
After its approval, the test was conducted on Prasanta in the Rasulgarh Forensic Laboratory in Bhubaneswar. Two other accused, Premananda Nayak and Sukant Pradhan alias Abua were sent to jail on Friday by the JMFC.
