Row over transfer of tehsildar resolved

Express News Service

With the State Government turning down the appeal of the outgoing Jaleswar tehsildar, Bijayini Biswal and instructing her to abide by the transfer order, the deadlock over the issue seems to be broken.

The work at Jaleswar tehsil was affected by the presence of two tehsildars for more than a month now.

In a fresh order, Principal Secretary of Revenue Department Taradatt has clarified that Rajanikant Biswal posted against Bijayini Biswal, who has been transferred to Loisinga in Balangir district, would continue as tehsildar of Jaleswar.

Balasore Collector Akhila Bihari Ota said with the instruction from the Government the peculiar situation arisen due to presence of two tehsildars has been solved.

Though Bijayini was relieved on May 31, she had appealed before the State Administrative Tribunal against the transfer and obtained a stay.

Since she had already been issued reliving orders before the tribunal order came, the Collector said the Government could do little about the situation.
