SAMBALPUR:: Three wagons of a coal-laden goods train derailed between Sason and Sarla railway station on Tuesday afternoon disrupting train services.

The train was on its way from Brajrajnagar to Talcher. The derailment affected Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Hirakud Express, Yeshwantpur-Tatanagar Express and Examination Special Yeshwantpur-Hatia Express besides Bilaspur-Raipur Passenger. However, normalcy has been restored.

Meanwhile, passengers of the Examination Special went berserk after it was stranded at Hirakud station. With rumours that the train would be detained for another 12 hours and no drinking water available at the station, the passengers ransacked the railway station. Finally, police reached the spot with drinking water and pacified the youths.
