Another held for Maoist links

 District Police on Friday arrested one Palastar Bariha of Khuripani village under Khaprakhol block for his alleged Maoist links.

So far, five persons have been arrested for their alleged proximity with the banned outfit. Earlier, the police had arrested Champeswar Rajput of Jhalbahal village, Pabitra Bag and  Kanhu Bariha, both of Beherapani village and Naresh Dharua of Malpada, all in Khaprakhol block.

Balangir SP R Prakash said Palastar was involved in the murder of Sashikanta Bhoi, the eldest son of Khaprakhol block Chairman Ganeshram Bhoi and the burning of kendu leaf phadis. He was secretary of the local area committee, promoted by the Maoists in the block, he added.
