Writer Jyoshna Routray passes away in hospital

Journalist and writer Jyoshna Routray passed away in a private hospital of the city on Wednesday. She was 55 and is survived by husband, a son and a daughter.

Wife of Jimuta Mangaraj, Editor of political weekly ‘Neta’, Jyoshna was ailing for a long time. She started her career as a journalist in 1982, She was a recipient of several awards including Nilasaila for her contribution to journalism and literature.

Jyoshna has several short stories and novels to her credit. She was working as a freelancer since 2006.

A large number of people including Ministers, MLAs and journalists paid tribute to the departed soul at her residence.

Her last rites were performed at Swargadwar, Puri.
