BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik addressed two public meetings at Padmapur in Keonjhar Sadar Assembly segment and Joda in Champua Assembly segment on Monday. The meetings, originally scheduled on Sunday, were cancelled after the chopper carrying Naveen developed technical snags.

Naveen arrived at Padmapur playground at around 9.30 am. In his 15-minute programme at Padmapur, Naveen assured the gathering to set up a medical college in the district within a couple of months. He said members of self help groups (SHGs) and farmers will be provided bank loan with one per cent interest per annum. The Chief Minister appealed to the voters to support BJD candidates Sakuntala Laguri for Keonjhar Lok Sabha constituency and Abhiram Naik for Keonjhar Sadar Assembly segment in the elections. “The BJP and Congress leaders are not interested in the development of the State,” Naveen alleged.

In his second meeting at Joda, he appealed to the gathering to vote in favour of Sakuntala Laguri and cine star Tatwa Prakash Satpathy aka Pappu Pom Pom for Champua Assembly segment.
