BERHAMPUR: Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) has reiterated its demand for implementation of Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) scheme for doctors in the State as per Central Government’s sixth Pay Commission report. A delegation of OMSA led by president Dr Nirakar Bhatta met Chief Secretary and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department on August 27 in this regard.
Speaking to mediapersons on Sunday, Dr Bhatta said the sixth Pay Commission report recommended for implementation of Assured Career Progression (ACP) for all employees and DACP for doctors. While the State Government implemented the ACP, it has remained silent on DACP for Government doctors so far, he added.
Since 2008, OMSA has been demanding before the State Government to implement DACP. The Government had constituted a ministerial-level high power committee comprising Ministers of Finance, Health and Law to formulate the modality of implementation of DACP for doctors on April 18, 2010.
Bhatta said though four years have passed, the committee has not submitted its report to the Government yet. If DACP is implemented in the State, young doctors will be attracted to work under the Government.
Besides, there will be no vacancies of doctors in Government hospitals, he claimed.
Bhatta said the two Secretaries have assured to look into the matter and will call for discussion soon.
