BHUBANESWAR: Odia journalist Jajati Karan would be awarded the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Indian Journalism Award in investigative reporting category. The Bureau Chief of CNN-IBN news channel would be presented with the award by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan at New Delhi on September 9.
The award comprises a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of `one lakh.
Jajati, the first Odia journalist working in the State to get the award, has been selected for his investigative reporting on the mining scam in 2011. His reports highlighted in national media the massive mining scam in Odisha.
