2 Arrested for Mineral Firm Official Murder

DHENKANAL: Motanga Police arrested two persons in connection with murder of Mangilall Rungta Ferro Alloys associate vice-president (AVP) on Wednesday. The two accused, Sujit Sahoo (25) and Tikayat Pradhan (27) , who were detained on Tuesday after the attack on AVP Siba Narayan Mishra were produced in a local court which rejected their bail pleas and sent them to district jail.

Police said the two are land losers of Motanga village under Motanga Police limits.  They were among the group of workers who had detained the vehicle of Mishra while he was on his way to the factory. They abused Mishra and his driver. They attacked the driver and dragged Mishra out of the vehicle. The miscreants then attacked Mishra mercilessly with iron rods leaving him critically injured near the industry at Tulasidiha village under Motanga police limits. A profusely bleeding Mishra was rushed to a hospital at Cuttack after being provided preliminary treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries. On the basis of the statement given by Mishra before his death, the two accused employees of the company were detained by the police on Tuesday for interrogation.

Though these two persons were involved in the attack, investigation is on to ascertain the suspected role of other workers, said Inspector-in-charge of Motanga police station J Sahoo. FIR was filed by Biren Pradhan, security in charge.
