BHUBANESWAR: A major portion of the city was under darkness for nearly half an hour on Sunday evening due to breakdown in power supply from Chandaka grid to Mancheswar feeder.
The areas affected by the power breakdown included Unit-III, Unit-IV, Unit-V, Unit-IX, Shastri Nagar, Saheed Nagar, Rasulgarh, Mancheswar and a part of Cuttack Road.
Normal power supply to the affected areas was restored through the second circuit line of Chandaka grid by drawing power from Bidanasi grid of Cuttack.
The technical fault in the first circuit line between Chandaka and Mancheswar could not be corrected till the report was filed.
