Man, Son Held in Patrapada Murder Case

A man and his son were arrested by police in connection with the murder of a material supplier Dilip Nayak.

BHUBANESWAR:  A man and his son were arrested by police in connection with the murder of a material supplier Dilip Nayak at Patrapada here on Tuesday.

The accused, Sarat Samantray and Suryakant Samantray, are part of a mob which attacked Dilip with firearms. The prime accused Rajendra Barik alias Raju is still on the run. The Samantrays of Patrapada are into land brokering in Khandagiri. A team led by Special Squad ACP Anup Kanungo has launched a manhunt to nab Raju and raids are being conducted in several parts of the State, DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said.

The police is also probing into Dilip’s political links which could have led to the murder, added Bhoi. Dilip was gunned down by Raju for tension between the duo.
