Swosti Chilika Resort to Come up Soon

BHUBANESWAR: In a bid to expand its hospitality presence in the State, Swosti Group on Saturday announced the launch of its luxury resort - Swosti Chilika Resort.

The resort is being developed on nine acres of land at Pathura village between Barkul and Rambha along the Chilika Lake. Construction work at the site has already begun and the Group expects to start operation by January 2017.

The project cost has been estimated at around `80 crore. The resort will have 70 rooms including independent villas and rooms in the hotel complex.

The major attractions of the resort are - spa, water sports, boating facilities around 26 islands in Chilika Lake, horse riding, bird watching tower, bicycle village tours, houseboats, yoga centre, herbal gardens, landscaping of around nine acres of land, amphitheatre, handicrafts shop, boat restaurants and a sports bar.

“The location of the proposed resort is four kilometres away from the National Highway and it remains windy with a moderate temperature all the year round. Odisha tourism will get a major boost once the resort starts functioning,” Swosti Group MD, JK Mohanty said.

The Group’s website is receiving regular queries from foreign tourists who are keen to see this resort start soon, Mohanty added. The company has also acquired land parcels for hotel and resort projects at Puri, Satpada and Bhitarkanika, all coastal areas within Odisha.
