BJP calls for 12 hours Bhubaneswar bandh on Dec 21

BJP's Bhubaneswar district unit president Maheswar Khuntia said all essential services like hospitals, medicine shops and ambulance service will be exempted from the 12 hours bandh.

BHUBANESHWAR: After launching 'chakka jam' in all the civic bodies of the state over the alleged link of BMC Mayor Ananta Jena in sex tape and murder of an engineering student, the Bhubaneswar district unit of the BJP today calls for a band in the city on December 21.

Announcing this at the state BJP headquarters here BJP's Bhubaneswar district unit president Maheswar Khuntia said all essential services like hospitals, medicine shops and ambulance service will be exempted from the 12 hours bandh from dawn to dust on Wednesday.

While BJP vice-president Sameer Mohanty claimed the chakka jam programme launched across 103 out of 112 urban civic areas of the state was a huge success, the agitation had no impact in  the city.
