KISS signs pact with Adani Foundation

BHUBANESWAR: The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has signed an MoU with Adani Foundation, Ahmedabad to set up a branch of the institute in the tribal district of Mayurbhanj.

Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta and chairperson of Adani Foundation Priti Adani signed the MoU recently. The foundation has agreed to finance the infrastructure facilities.

The Mayurbhanj branch will start operating from next academic year and would provide quality education to underprivileged tribal students of Mayurbhanj and adjacent districts.

Land has already been purchased in Koraput, Kalahandi, Balangir, Sundargarh and Keonjhar to set up KISS branches and many corporate houses have agreed to support them. As many as eight to 10 branches of KISS would be started in these districts soon, Dr Samanta said and added that 1200 students will be admitted to each branch. 

Among others, Adani Group president Goutam Adani and Vice-Chairman Karan Adani were present.
