SAMBALPUR/JHARSUGUDA:Rain accompanied by hailstorm and heavy wind lashed Sambalpur and Jharsuguda districts on Monday evening for about 30 minutes.
While the extent of loss could not be ascertained immediately, but with lakhs of tonnes of paddy lying in the open in market yards of Regulated Market Committees awaiting procurement and in farms, the loss would be substantial.Sources said hailstorm could have destroyed vegetable drops in the area.
