BHUBANESWAR/PURI: The Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Boudh police station Amulya Kumar Dhar has been placed under suspension for attempting to touch the idol of Devi Subhadra during Niladri Bije in Puri on July 6.
Director-General of Police K B Singh on Saturday issued the suspension orders acting upon an inquiry report of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). The CCTV footage revealed that Dhar was in plain clothes and had tried to break the cordon to get close to the idol and touch it. This was in violation of the Orissa High Court order.
