JHARSUGUDA: The stand-off between villagers of Tilia in Lakhanpur block of the district and the OPGC over alleged forcible occupation of land continues with the villagers refusing to budge from their stand.

Although Jharsuguda Collector Bibhuti Bhushan Pattnaik had tried to break the ice by convening a meeting with the villagers over the issue on Saturday, the villagers stuck to their demand of enhanced compensation against their land acquired and permanent jobs in the OPGC.
The villagers have threatened to disrupt expansion work of Units 3 and 4 of the OPGC, which is being undertaken in their village under police protection.
