BALANGIR: Balangir police arrested one Jhasaketan Sahu of Kendumundi village in Kalahandi district on charges of forging motor insurance policy by submitting fake documents. Sources said driver of Sahu’s tractor Jayaran Chhattar was killed in a road accident in Balangir on June 16, 2015. Following the mishap, Chhattar’s parents lodged complaints with Sindhkela police and the local Assistant Labour Commissioner office demanding compensation of `10 lakh.

They claimed that the vehicle was insured by Sahu with Reliance General Insurance Co Ltd and as per the insurance policy norms, driver of the vehicle is also eligible for compensation in the event of accidental death or injury. However, during verification, police found out that Sahu had fabricated an insurance policy issued by the company for another vehicle.
