BHAWANIPATNA: Two panchayat extension officers (PEOs) of Kalahandi district have been placed under suspension by Collector Anjan Kumar Manik pending inquiry for alleged misappropriation of funds meant for old-age pension and developmental works. The panchayat extension officer of M Rampur gram panchayat was suspended for misappropriating funds to the tune of of `2,95,200. In the second case, the panchayat extension officer of Dom-Karlakhunta gram panchayat was suspended for alleged misappropriation of funds meant for developmental works to the tune of `4,77,000. Both the gram panchayats are under M Rampur block.
