MALKANGIRI:In a major break through, an inter-State ganja racket was busted by Chitrakonda police on Sunday with the arrest of three persons.

The police seized around 1,004 kg of the contraband from a vehicle while it was being transported to Haryana early on Sunday, said SP Jagmohan Meena. He said  a police party, on patrolling duty, intercepted the vehicle near Rajulkonda adjoining Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border. On checking, it was found that the vehicle was carrying 1,004 kg ganja packed in 34 bags, Meena said, adding that the value of the seized contraband is more than `50 lakh.

The SP said  ganja was being transported to Haryana from Darakonda area under Chitrakonda police limits. The arrested persons have been identified as Kuldeep (27), Rinku (28) and Pradeep Kumar alias Bintu (24), who all are  natives of Kelenga village under Bhiwini district of Haryana, Meena said.
