PURI:  Gundicha temple on Tuesday witnessed a congregation of at least two lakh devotees, who gathered to have a glimpse of the Trinity on Adapa Mandap. Last night, Lord Jagannath and His Siblings were taken inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple in a ceremonial ‘Pahandi’.

After three days of incessant rain, Puri saw conducive weather condition today. Devotees, mostly locals, thronged the temple and also feasted on Adapa Abhada (cooked Mahaprasad) in the temple complex. 
Earlier in the day, priests performed daily chores of the deities as observed in the main temple, beginning from Mangal Aarati, Mailam, Abakash, Besha, Gopal Bhog, Rosh Homa, Surya Puja, Dwarpal Puja and offering of cooked ‘bhog’ in lunch. ‘Darshan’ of the deities was closed from 8 pm for four hours for observance of ‘Banak Laagi’ ritual.Elaborate arrangements were made by the administration for the devotees. The Gundicha temple and its surroundings, besides the three chariots were kept under CCTV surveillance and tight security.
