NRI robbed in Bhubaneswar airport

The handbag of a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) containing passports and other valuables was stolen outside the Biju Patnaik International (BPIA) in the Capital recently.

BHUBANESWAR:The handbag of a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) containing passports and other valuables was stolen outside the Biju Patnaik International (BPIA) in the Capital recently.The NRI, Neeraj Chandan, boarded Vistara Airlines flight from New Delhi to Bhubaneswar and reached BPIA at 8.30 pm on June 2 with his wife Alka and sons Bhargav and Piyush.

Chandan is a native of Punjab and was working as a chartered accountant in Ghana. While Chandan and his wife were greeting his friends, a miscreant stole the handbag from their trolley.Chandan mentioned in his complaint that he had kept their passports, non-citizen cards of Ghana, 3000 USD, two iPhones and Samsung phone besides Indian currency in the handbag. After Chandan informed the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) about the incident, the latter searched for the miscreant, but to no avail.
Commissionerate Police and CISF personnel scanned the CCTV footage, but no one has been nabbed so far.
