Union Minister Pradhan launches projects worth Rs 204.32 crore in Odisha's Angul

Pradhan further stated that steps are being taken to establish a Kendriya Vidyalaya and enhance other basic facilities in the region.

ANGUL: Union Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated and laid foundation stones for multiple developmental projects worth around Rs 204.32 crore in Angul district on Tuesday.

Pradhan laid the foundation stone for 62 projects worth Rs 183.85 crore and inaugurated 29 projects valued at around Rs 20.47 crore. These projects span key sectors including Works, Rural Development, Water Resources, and Panchayati Raj.

Addressing a public meeting at Athmallik, the minister said development in all regions of the country, including Athmallik, will be ensured under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He noted that Athmallik holds significant potential for growth and development.

Highlighting the role of the ‘double-engine government’, he said a large number of pucca houses are being provided to the poor under the Awas Yojana. The Angul collector has been directed to prepare necessary housing plans to benefit poor and middle-class families. He also emphasised that the government is committed to extending social security to new beneficiaries under various schemes.

Describing Athmallik as an agrarian region, Pradhan pointed out that a variety of crops are cultivated in the area. He directed the district administration to ensure better market access for agricultural produce.

Referring to the challenges faced by residents of Satkosia Tiger Reserve, the minister said a meeting will be convened by the administration to address their grievances and explore solutions.

Pradhan further stated that steps are being taken to establish a Kendriya Vidyalaya and enhance other basic facilities in the region. Infrastructure development in Satkosia area will be strengthened to generate employment opportunities and boost the local economy, he added.

Among others, MLAs Pratap Pradhan and Agasti Behera besides Angul collector Abdaal Akhtar were present.
