CHENNAI: DMK president M Karunanidhi on Sunday told the Pudukottai district party functionaries to strive unitedly for the success of the party in the 2011 election to the State Assembly.

CHENNAI: DMK president M Karunanidhi on Sunday told the Pudukottai district party functionaries to strive unitedly for the success of the party in the 2011 election to the State Assembly.

The DMK has been holding district-wise review meetings of the party units to discuss organisational preparedness ahead of the elections. On Sunday, the Pudukottai district meeting was held in which office-bearers led by district secretary Periannan Arasu participated.  

According to DMK sources, the party president stressed the need for unity to achieve victory at the hustings. Measures intended at strengthening the party were also discussed.

Besides Karunanidhi, party general secretary K Anbazhagan, treasurer M K Stalin, Arcot N Veerasamy, Duraimurugan, Parithi Illamvazhuthi, T K S Elangovan and Sarguna Pandian participated.
