CHENNAI: DMK leader M Karunanidhi launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and the AIADMK government in a letter in party mouthpiece Murasoli  over every issue that he has had a bone to pick with his arch rival in the past four months.

The AIADMK’s stoppage of schemes and projects of the DMK government, Universal School Education, New Secretariat, false cases et al featured in the letter, which Karunanidhi ended with a warning to the AIADMK and the State police force.

“Those who sow discord shall have to reap its fruits at some point. I also say this to the police,” said Karunanidhi. “Over the past four months, members of the AIADMK government are only focused in going after the DMK’s schemes and DMK functionaries, rather than using their heads to govern,” he added.

Karunanidhi flayed Jayalalithaa and her government and accused them of either shutting down useful projects and schemes of the DMK or of rendering them ineffective. He gave a number of examples to prove his statement . He also accused the AIADMK of playing copycat with the DMK’s schemes.

“The AIADMK government has only followed in the footsteps of the DMK government. It has only either increased the dole or changed the name and continuing our schemes. The same  person Jayalalithaa who criticised the freebies of the previous government is now handing out grinders, mixies, fans, laptops, goats and cows. People of Tamil Nadu are going to learn how many of these  freebies they will actually get,” he said.
