Human bones found in farm well create flutter

Express News Service

Human bones were spotted in a farm well at Kilmonavur and created a flutter in the locality on Friday. Locals alerted the police and a team from Vellore North police station visited the spot and retrieved the bones. An identity card, ATM card and wallet with a family photo were also found.

Police said the bones were spotted by the villagers after the well, belonging to one Ekambaram, went dry. While the skull was found packed in a gunny bag, the other parts of the body were found in another package, both tied to a big stone. Vrinjipuram police investigating the case said the package also contained a shirt and pant.

Police claimed the bones could be of one Vinod Kumar (22) of Eswaran Koil street in Melmonavur village, who went missing in 2009. A missing person case had been registered in the Vellore North police station in which the details about the shirt and pant he was wearing when he went missing was also noted.

Police said further details  can be given only after a DNA analysis of the bones.
