CHENNAI: Former DMK minister Vellaikoil MP Saminathan, who had been  arrested on January 23 this year on the charge of abetting his three associates in a land grabbing case, was granted bail by the Madras High Court on Tuesday.

Justice MM Sundresh, who granted the bail to Saminathan, also granted bail to K Kanakaraj, another accused. They should be released on bail on their executing a personal bond for Rs 10,000 each with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the Judicial Magistrate in Dharapuram, the jduge said. They should  report before the inspector attached to  Tiruppur district crime branch (DCB) as and when required, he  added.
