Police of the Ambur All Women Police Station on Thursday arrested a 60-year-old man, Annamalai, for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl. The police have booked a case under section 376 and 506 (1) of IPC with section 23 of The Juvenile Justice Act.
Vimala (name changed), a class V student, lodged complaint with the AWPS against her neighbour Annamalai, stating that Annamalai assaulted her on June 12.
Annamalai’s granddaughter and Vimala’s brother rescued her. They bit Annamalai, helping her get away.
