The online bidding of 101 arrack and 89 toddy shops in Puducherry and 29 arrack and 30 toddy shops in Karaikal, which was to begin on June 14, has been postponed due to technical snag in the server AuctionIndia. New dates are yet to be fixed.
The auction brings huge revenue for the government. Last year it earned Rs 82 crores and Rs 77 crores the year before. This year it is targeting Rs 90 crores.
