One person was killed and three were injured in an accident involving two lorries near here, on Saturday. A lorry carrying iron rods from Hosur to Virudhunagar collided with another lorry bound for Bangalore from Thoothukudi at Kappalur near Thirumangalam, on Saturday.
Jayaraman (24) of Mandhiri Vaikal in Virudhunagar district, the driver of the lorry laden with iron rods, was killed on the spot. Alagar (35), the cleaner and Vadivu (50), Jayaraman’s relative sustained injuries.
Prathap Yadav, the driver of the second lorry was also injured. Police have lodged a case and are investigating the crash.
