TIRUNELVELI: Three more persons reportedly died of dengue in Tirunelveli district on Tuesday, taking the total number of deaths due to the killer fever to 25.
A senior health officer said Preethika (10) of Kavalkinaru, Dikson Samuel (10) of Maruthamputhur near Mukkudal and Baby Irudiya Marry (7) of Ambalavan-apuram, Ambasamudram area, died due to dengue on Tuesday.
He also confirmed that two persons — Suryanar-ayanan (25) of Tirunelveli town and Meena (35) of Ambasamudram, died at a private hospital due to the fever earlier. It may be noted that a dengue death reported at Kavalkinaru was in area on the border of Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts.
