'Probe graft in Yanam schemes'

Express News Service

Members of the People’s Democratic Front of Yanam on Friday held a dharna on Ambur Saalai near the Legislative Assembly to press the government to institute a vigilance inquiry into the six developmental schemes for Yanam which Legislator Malladi Krishna Rao wanted the Puducherry administration to expedite and threatened to resign if the government failed to do so.

Led by ex-MLA Velaga Rajeswara Rao they travelled all the way from Yanam to Puducherry to hold the agitation. They alleged that there were widespread irregularities in all the six schemes. They exempted the construction of Yanam flood water protection scheme as a CBI probe was already on.  Later, they gave a memorandum to the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Secretary.
